I wonder about the differences in policies between the States and Canada. Now, however, I must read The Four Walls of My Freedom! I love the idea of families having access to either appropriate housing or funding. Before I had Julia I actually thought this was the case.
Ian Brown's Globe series came out just after Julia was born. His similar comment about having to change Walker's diaper when he was in his 60s sent me into a tailspin. His questions about the meaning of Walkers life and why the doctors work so hard to save kids like him only to abandon them to a woefully inadequate support system still resonate with me.
LisaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-447392662850613354.post-63290825598729951142011-01-24T18:08:59.987-05:002011-01-24T18:08:59.987-05:00Hi Louise - thanks for the recommendation of Donna...Hi Louise - thanks for the recommendation of Donna's book - I just ordered it (Chapters has it too). I'm intrigued by the concept of 'Capability Approach'. I know, having taken the inclusion route, that I really struggle with the difference between Aaron's capabilities as defined by him and the pressure to 'conform' in order to fit in.sue robinshttp://www.birdcommunications.canoreply@blogger.com
