On his lip and his nose is a bit flat I think some people are ignorant towards this I was told in my 20 week scan my boy will be born with cleft lip they were not sure about palate but sadly both hard and soft palate was cleft but with the grace of God he is doing really well. Amaan is under the care of Great Ormand Street hospital in UK the best children's hospital in our local area for plastic reconstruction surgery..
As a mother I didn't care he had a cleft lip got so used to his big smile but did this for my son so he wouldn't get bullied at school we all want best for our children. And best start in life
All the best for the future
You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts
Mehnaz AhmedAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16562907997055172458noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-447392662850613354.post-24599494781353842322011-06-24T11:37:50.546-04:002011-06-24T11:37:50.546-04:00Thank you for writing this - beautiful!Thank you for writing this - beautiful!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-447392662850613354.post-78610922380651738622011-05-31T06:11:16.135-04:002011-05-31T06:11:16.135-04:00Hi. I think often it's more difficult when a child appears to be healthy because society has a certain level of expectation then and sees any abnormal behaviour as the person just being difficult. It's high time we opened our minds and started accepting that we humans are incredibly diverse creatures and just because a person doesn't act in a certain way doesn't make them a lesser person.

Thank you for writing this.Sharon Jhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17300818778040143359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-447392662850613354.post-66407569007446363472011-05-30T18:55:21.414-04:002011-05-30T18:55:21.414-04:00Dear Lori,

As it turns out, my physical disability makes me no better or worse than your son. Moreover, I have learned that nothing scars a parent, family, or individual more than exclusion. For, we are all utterly human.

With this in mind, I wish you well on all your endeavors, as Mitchell will bring joy to all who are willing to meet him.

Yours truly,

Matt KamaratakisAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-447392662850613354.post-65344729097927674462011-05-30T17:16:52.360-04:002011-05-30T17:16:52.360-04:00Thank you Lori for sharing. While I am not familiar with Fragile X - so many things you have said apply to how I too have felt in the past about our own challenges with special needs.
Congratulations on your first post,
Heather EvansAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
